Recently, the selection results of the 3rd Top 10 Graduate Supervisors and Top 10 Graduate Supervisor Teams at China University of Petroleum (East China) were announced. Through procedures including personal application by supervisors, recommendation by schools (departments), expert review, and public announcement of the list, Professor Wang Jian was awarded the Top 10 Graduate Supervisors of the university.
Wang Jian is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Science, director of the Joint Laboratory of Cross-Media Big Data, academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association. He has been committed to research in fields such as intelligent oilfield development, intelligent optimization theory, and large-scale sparse optimization. As the first completed person, he won the first prize of Shandong Provincial Artificial Intelligence Natural Science Award. He serves as an associate editor of SCI journals such as IEEE TFS (T0, IF=10.7) and IEEE TNNLS (T0, IF=10.2).He has guided students to publish more than 90 academic papers focusing on cutting-edge areas of neural networks and intelligent oilfields. Many of his students have won honorary awards such as Shandong Provincial Excellent Graduates, National Scholarship, and President's Award of China University of Petroleum. A number of students have been awarded provincial and university-level excellent master's and doctoral theses. Many graduates have continued to engage in scientific research in fields such as oil development and artificial intelligence.As the conference chair, he has hosted 6 sessions of the International Conference on Latest Advances in Computational Intelligence, and invited international academicians to serve as honorary professors of the university, which has broadened students' horizons and strengthened their sense of innovation and ability.
