Title: From Mathematics to Applications - Artificial Intelligence for Practical Engineering Problems

Abstract: The report mainly discusses some issues in the teaching, engineering practice, and other aspects of the intersection research of mathematics and artificial intelligence, including: large-scale equipment intelligent operation and maintenance, multi-fidelity digital twin modeling, and artificial intelligence interpretability. The report focuses on some of the problems in teaching, engineering practice, etc., including: intelligent operation and maintenance of large-scale equipment, multi-fidelity digital twin modeling, and related work on the interpretability of artificial intelligence.

Personal Introduction: Prof. Chao Zhang is a professor and a doctoral director. His main research interests are in the basic theory of artificial intelligence and its engineering applications, covering statistical learning theory, random matrix theory, deep learning theory, interpretable artificial intelligence technology, intelligent operation and maintenance of large-scale equipment, biomedical big data analysis, and multi-modal digital twin modeling, etc. He has published 60 SCI/EI papers, and has been a member of the International Academy of Artificial Intelligence (IAI). He has published more than 60 SCI/EI papers, including the top machine learning journals and conferences such as JMLR, IEEETIT, IEEE-TNNLS, NIPS, UAI, AISTATS, etc., and the top engineering journals such as SMO, MSSP, JMD, IEEE-IOT, and EAAI. He has served as a member of the top academic conferences in the field of artificial intelligence and data mining, such as IJCAI, AAAI, ICDM, SDM, CIKM, ICCV-SDLCV, and so on. He has presided over one National Key Research and Development Program project and three National Natural Science Foundation of China projects. He was awarded the Second Prize of Quality Technology of China Quality Association (2/15), Dalian Young Star of Science and Technology, Xinghai Excellent Youth and other awards. His main research achievements include: theoretical research framework of artificial intelligence algorithm for matrix-type data, real-time monitoring of shield machine operation parameters and geological reconstruction of construction tunnel based on artificial intelligence, digital twin modeling of multimodal data based on machine learning, and intelligent quality control technology of hot rolling production line based on digital twin. And as the first instructor to lead the team to win the Challenge Cup unveiled marshal special competition national special prize, Liaoning Province Internet + Competition Gold Award and other awards.
