On August 19th, the Academic Forum on Fundamentals of Mathematics and Physics and Artificial Intelligence was held in our school. This forum is hosted by the School of Science of China University of Petroleum (East China), and more than 100 experts, scholars, teachers, students, and representatives of relevant enterprises from domestic and foreign universities, research institutes, and related fields attended the meeting.

Dean of the Faculty of Science, Wei Baojun, and Academician Nikhil R. Pal of the Indian Institute of Statistics attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Experts and scholars from universities and enterprises such as the University of Alberta in Canada, the Indian Institute of Statistics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, South China Normal University, Shandong University, China University of Mining and Technology, Tongji University, Shandong University, Yantai University, Chongqing Three Gorges University, Fancy Tech Company, China University of Petroleum (East China) and other universities and enterprises were invited to give special reports, and in-depth exchanges on new breakthroughs and new progress in basic mathematical disciplines and artificial intelligence were held.

Keynote report by Professor Witold Pedrycz of the University of Alberta

On the morning of the 19th, academicians of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, foreign academicians of the Polish Academy of Sciences, IEEE academicians, editor in chief of Information Sciences, and Professor Witold Pedrycz of the University of Alberta delivered a keynote speech titled The credibility of machine learning architecture: designing self-awareness mechanisms; Academician of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Indian Academy of Engineering, Academician of Developing Countries, IEEE Fellow, and Nikhil R. Pal of the Institute of Statistics of India, presented a keynote report titled Is the trend of artificial intelligence as big as good sustainable; A keynote report titled History, Current Status, and Prospects of Neutrino Research by Professor Liao Yi, a national outstanding youth, a Bachelor of Engineering from Tsinghua University, and a South China Normal University; Professor Wang Dianhui, Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at China University of Mining and Technology, Founder and Executive Editor of Industrial Artificial Intelligence, delivered a keynote report titled Key Technologies of Industrial Intelligence: Deep Random Configuration Network Learning Theory. On the afternoon of the 19th, the Mathematics Branch held discussions and exchanges on the basics of big data statistics, the mathematical mechanisms of machine learning, knowledge reasoning, and model driving; The physics branch held discussions and exchanges on new methods for big data analysis in fields such as high-energy physics, astrophysics, and condensed matter physics. This forum presents the latest achievements, discusses hot topics, and looks forward to development prospects around 14 thematic reports.
