Personal Introduction:
Moncef Gabbouj is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science of Tampere University, Finland, an Academician of the Academia Europaea, an Academician of the Finnish Academy of Sciences, an IEEE member, and a member of the IEEE Fourier Prize Committee. Academician Moncef is currently recognized as a world expert in image processing. His research interests include big data analysis, multimedia content analysis, indexing and retrieval, artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition, nonlinear signal and image processing and analysis, voice conversion, video processing and coding, etc. Academician Moncef is a recipient of the International Computer Science Leadership Award, the Finnish Computer Science Leadership Award, the Finnish Electronics and Electrical Engineering Leadership Award, and the Finnish Cultural Foundation Award. He served as an outstanding lecturer at the IEEE Circuit and Systems Association from 2004 to 2005, former chairman of the IEEE-EURASIP NSIP (Nonlinear Signal and Image Processing) committee, and chairman of the algorithm group at the European Commission COST 211quat. Academician Moncef has published multiple works and over 700 papers in fields such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, pattern recognition, algorithms, and artificial neural networks. He currently serves as a member of the editorial board for international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Access, and Multimedia Systems.
